A unique village of traditional buddhist

Customary and cultural practice, historical background with scienic reasons compel everybody to arrive at a conclusion that traditional Buddhists have been residing in vill – Maniabandha for more than 1500 years . The population of traditional Buddhist of the locality being more than 5000 at present.

Maniabandha is regarded as the largest traditional Buddhist village in India. Probaly the Lord Buddha is the inventor of the term and form of “sangha” (means society or colony) which is also experienced and seen in the village. All the above 5000 [ep[;es tjpigj are dovodd om 4 sub goups is Prataprudradev, Nakhira, Chowdwar and Damodarpur but such groups are unified under a single platform “Buddha sangha “ which is in operation from time immemorial and the Sangha has been registered at the district office of Cuttack vide no. 7324/323(1973/74).
